Hello!
I'm back with another review, this time on a product that I would never have normally considered, yet it turned out to be one of my best beauty steals.
Soap and Glory 'Kick Ass' Concealer:
£10 |
On the hunt for a new concealer, I immediately approached the Estee Lauder counter which held no doubt in my mind. I was speaking to the lovely lady at the counter and she recommended the double wear concealer as I was after a high coverage to use both under my eyes and on my blemishes.
However, after having it sit on my skin I was honest with her and told her that I thought it looked cakey and really wasn't what I was looking for.
Off I went and had a stroll past the Soap and Glory section of Boots and saw this out of the corner of my eye. I had previously seen some hype surrounding this product, especially from one of my favourite beauty bloggers 'essiebutton.' So, I swatched it on my hand and the rest is history.

On the left there is a pinky shade concealer that is perfect for under the eyes to cancel out any dark blue circles - that immediately awakens the whole eye area. On the left, as you can see there is a yellow shade concealer that is perfect for my skin tone in covering up any blemishes.
I must say however, this concealer would not be suited to everybody as the blemish shade is very yellow. So, if you're an NC in MAC this will most definitely suit your skin tone but if you're naturally more warm/pinky toned this probably isn't the concealer for you.
Here is a swatch that clearly conveys the colour difference between the two concealers. It may look a little drastic but both seperate concealers work wonders in what they are supposed to do.
The other nifty thing about this little concealer compact is the translucent powder that sits above the actual concealers. It may at first seem a little pointless, however it's great for layering your concealer. So, under the eyes its nice to do a layer of concealer, seal it with a powder (so it doesn't crease) then add another layer of concealer if needs be.
As far as a review goes, I would say this is a pretty positive one. It shows that high end is not always the answer and that the drugstore does have a lot to offer when it comes to face/concealing products. Give Soap and Glory a try and let me know what you think because i'm excited to delve into what else they have to offer.
What is your favourite drugstore concealer? x
