Valentine's Day Lips

In a week or so we arrive at the date that some of us either love or that we hate. But life is too short to hate, so why not love?

When it comes to Valentines Day we all like to feel like we have put the effort in, into making our selves look a little more than presentable - but in a way that shouts effortless! I've whittled my lip collection down to three key lippy's that will all look fabulous throughout the day heading into night time. Whether you like dark and vampy or soft and sexy, stay tuned for the best of the bunch. 

1. MAC - 'Viva Glam 1'

I'm sure you have all seen this one before, the infamous Viva Glam 1. A statement red that will suit any skin tone. With a MAC matte finish comes a long wearing lipstick that will last all day, perfect for a Valentine's date where hopefully you will be too occupied to reapply (resisting the urge to insert a wink emoji). 

Not too light, not too dark - ditch the smokey look and pair with a nude eye which will create that modern contemporary face. Top tip: colour in the lip with a red lip pencil before hand, such as MAC 'Cherry', doubled up with the lipstick it will not budge all day. 

2. Tanya Burr Lipgloss - 'Smile, Dream Sparkle'

For the girl that doesn't want to opt for a red for Valentines and prefers a gloss, this is your pick. I'm not one to buy in to the Youtube craze with the amount of youtuber's bringing out products, it seems a bit of a gimmick. However, when Tanya Burr brought out her range of lipglosses' I was obviously intrigued. Pleasantly surprised, I would say that she has the best gloss formula out there. Not very sticky, adds a subtle hint of colour but also adds mega shine. Pair with a nude lippy underneath and you will achieve the look of fuller, plumper lips on Valentines.

Also, not forgetting the price. At £6.99, this gloss is a true bargain and will guaranteed be a make up bag staple for all occasions. 

3. Lime Crime Velvetine - 'Wicked'

If you don't want to play it safe and you are fully digging the dark vampy look, this 'Lime Crime' liquid lipstick will consistently do the job. I am fully aware that my lips looks ridiculously big in this photo, however I am willing to accept that the size of my lips will never change and I simply must embrace them when they are amplified by a dark lippy!

Considering you can bag this beauty for less than a MAC lipstick, I believe that the price is fully reasonable - especially because it creates an effect like no other. It applies to the lips just as if a gloss would, with a doe foot applicator and liquid texture yet after a 30 second waiting time, it dries to a fully matte finish. Now seriously, this product will not budge, I reiterate, will not budge! Therefore, it is perfect for a Valentines date, no food or drink is going to effect this things incredible staying power and it might even stay put until the next morning. Cheeky!
